Job Advertisement Rules

Nobody likes rules. However, FreelanceStudents’ rules help to create a safe, fair, and friendly environment for all our users. As a user, you are responsible for reviewing and understanding FreelanceStudents’ job advertisement (“ads”) rules and the terms & conditions outlined in the service agreement.

We review every job ad to ensure it matches our job board, represents a fair opportunity for students and isn’t spam.

Carefully review this page prior to posting a job ad to avoid unintentionally breaking rules. Users that regularly break our job ad rules may find their future use of the site restricted.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MY JOB AD?

We generally approve all jobs within 24 hours, however if your job has not appeared after 3 days then it’s most likely been turned down. If you feel this is unjustified, please contact support. Please note that the status of your job is shown under ‘My Account’.

WHAT WILL MODERATORS CHECK IN MY JOB AD?

  • Each job ad must be written in English.
  • Each job ad must advertise a specific position (i.e. one vacancy only). Generic postings advertising numerous vacancies or employment services are not permitted.
  • Job ads should be placed in the category which most closely relates to the actual vacancy rather than the employer or industry. If you are unsure please post in the ‘Misc’ category.
  • Ensure that all fields in the job posting form are filled out correctly e.g. the “Description” field should only contain your requirements and no contact details or information on how to apply.
  • Agencies must identify themselves.
  • We do not accept job ads that require students to send money or stamped addressed envelopes to gain further details of the position/s.
  • We do not accept commission-only jobs.
  • We do not accept job ads that advertise pyramid selling.
  • We do not accept postings that contain links to other websites that offer users the ability to post job ads.
  • We do not accept job ads that advertise for male or female models and actors using generic email accounts (e.g. hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc) and/or mobile phone numbers. These posters must include a registered agency email address and land line number.
  • We do not accept job ads that advertise for students to work overseas using generic email accounts (e.g. hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc) and/or mobile phone numbers.
  • We do not accept ads for adult or escort industry work.
  • We do not accept job ads for medical trials of any kind.
  • We do not accept job ads that will place students in any immediate danger.
  • We do not accept duplicate job ads. Please do not post the same ad over and over again.
  • Our aim is to provide students with professional work experience and therefore we do not accept ads that offer menial jobs.
  • We expect students to be paid expenses as a minimum.
  • You can post a limit of 10 unique Ads on FreelanceStudents each day. Unique means that the Ads are substantially different from each other. Please do not post the same Ad over and over again. This restriction is in place to prevent users from “spamming” the site.
  • We reserve the right to remove or edit job ads without notice where these breach our posting rules and/or our terms & conditions as outlined in the service agreement.

REPORTING BREACHES OF JOB AD RULES

All jobs are reviewed by FreelanceStudents prior to being posted on the Job Board. However, whilst we do our best to ensure all ads adhere to our rules, the occasional ad may slip through the net – we are only human after all. We ask that you contact us if you find an ad that breaches the rules.

Your participation and vigilance as part of this growing community of students is truly invaluable.
